MGM is stunt-ing

So today we went to MGM. I vaguely remember going to MGM 15 years ago but it is the one I remember the least from my trip when I was 10. So for the most part it was all completely new to me! However, we did start at something familar....

We saw the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Still as amazing as when I first saw it. Highly recommend seeing it if you go there. (Becky says I would've been a bad "extra" because I wouldn't have screamed properly.)

From there we went to the Lights! Motors! Action! show, which is basically a half hour display of a bunch of cars doing stunts that you typically see in car chases. They had some pretty cool car tricks that they did like designing a car so that the driver faces backwards to make it easier for chases where the car needs to ride in reverse. They also had a copy of Herbie the Love Bug and split him in two pieces... so two drivers were driving half a Herbie!

After the car stunt show, we headed to Star Tours. This was your typical flight simulator. Nothing too exciting. Although the "loading" movie reminded us why certain clothing trends were retired in the '80s.

From there we went to the Backlot Tour where they performed a stunt with a tanker truck, fire and lots of water, which was fun. We also saw a few life-size poster advertisements for Grey's Anatomy and Lost scattered around the park. (Like they need ads to get viewers.)

We then tried to go the Muppets 3D but it was shut down so we headed to the Great Movie Ride and saw scenes from movies such as Singin' in the Rain and The Wizard of Oz. We attempted to name every one of the movies shown in the ending "montage" clip and came pretty close to getting them all. Not sure what that says about us!

By then, we were getting tired and decided to head to the high-speed roller coaster for a pick-me-up. We rode the Rock 'n Roller Coaster hosted by Aerosmith. It goes pretty fast and is completely dark and enclosed. However, I enjoyed it. Becky didn't have as much fun with Steven Tyler yelling in her ear and being bounced around.. she decided it was better when she was there a few years ago.

Finally, we decided to try to see the Muppets 3D show one more time and this time it was open! So we went in and saw the show which was another interactive 3D spectacular. We both enjoyed that and agreed that along with Indiana Jones, these were our favorites for the day.

Anyways, that concluded our day at MGM. Tomorrow will be a little more low-key with golf in the morning and relaxing afterwards. I think we could use a little relaxing after the last 2 days!

---> Becky here... after editing Anthony's posts... I'm going to add that his commentary today is rather point-by-point, which is kinda how it had to be because of the crowds at MGM today. I was disappointed that it was more crowded than Animal Kingdom was yesterday, because the "wait times" in line, while not especially bad, were still enough to make us feel like we had to "plan" to see everything. I suppose if we got up earlier and got there before noon it would've helped. :) Ah well, it is vacation and when there is no work there must be sleep! And I must say, even though the weather was chilly today compared to yesterday, I will take 67 and sunny any day over work in 40 degree weather at home!

So that's our day. My guess for tomorrow is that I will beat Anthony by at least 10 strokes. If I don't, last year's lessons will seem pointless and I will have a severe case of embarassment to deal with... plus a LOT of sarcasm on his part when he rubs it in for the rest of the week!

P.S. We uploaded all the pictures in the web album again and added captions! Go take a look at them if you haven't already! Web Album
